FAQ's

Have questions that aren’t answered here. Feel free to call one of our stores or fill out the "contact us" form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q: What are the different mattress sizes?

A: Twin is 39” wide x 75” long.
Twin Extra Long is 39” wide x 80” long
    Full is 54” wide x 75” long
Full Extra Long is 54” wide x 80” long
    Queen is 60” wide x 80” long
California Queen is 60” wide x 84” long
    King is 76” wide x 80” long
California King is 72” wide x 84” long

Q: Can you get special size mattresses?

A: Because of the cost associated with making a custom sized mattress, we only offer the basic sizes listed
     above.

Q: How can I tell if I need a new mattress?

A: Usually, if your mattress is seven to ten years old, it’s time to replace it. New sleep technologies are
hitting the market every few years, and if your mattress is too old, you’re not getting the benefit of the
    newest support and comfort materials.
Also a good rule of thumb is, no matter how new or old your current mattress is, if you are having
trouble sleeping, or you are waking up tired, stiff or sore, you probably need a new mattress, or at least a
    different type.

Q: Should I replace my box spring/foundation also?

A: Buying a matching set insures that you have the correct support for the mattress that is recommended by
the manufacturer. Unless the mattress is being placed on a platform style bed, manufacturers do not
offer a warranty with a mattress only purchase.

Q: What firmness is better for me…firm, plush, pillow top, memory foam?

A:  Everyone has different sleep needs and that is why The SleepZone carries so many models to choose
from. It’s important to pick a mattress that is both supportive and comfortable, and our expert staff will
help you select the mattress that has just the right support and comfort to help you get the best night’s
     sleep possible.

Q: What are your store hours?

A: Mon-Fri:  10am – 8pm
            Sat:  10am – 7pm
           Sun:    1pm – 6pm

Q: What if my queen size box spring won’t fit up my stairs?

A: The SleepZone can special order “split queen” boxes for most models that come in two sections to get
through  those hard to fit areas.

Q: Is it necessary to flip or turn my mattress?

A: Most mattress models today are the no-flip type so flipping is not needed, but it is recommended to
rotate a mattress every few months to get the most comfort out of it.

Q: What kind of bed frame do I need for my mattress?

A: The most important feature in a bed frame is to have “center support” legs, especially in a queen and
king sizes. If you have a wooden headboard and footboard with side rails, it is not enough to just have
wooden slats. You must still have support legs that touch the floor, supporting the center part of the
mattress. Failure to do so will cause the mattress to wear out prematurely and will void the factory
    warranty.

The SleepZone carries all sizes and types of sturdy bed frames as well as “center leg” support kits to fit
    your existing beds.

Q: Do you have a comfort exchange or return policy?

A: The SleepZone used to have a 90 day comfort exchange policy, but in July of 2006, the State of
Tennessee passed a law that made it illegal to offer any type of comfort exchange. In accordance
with that, we do not offer a return policy as that would constitute taking back used bedding.

The main reason for wanting to return or exchange a mattress is the wrong choice of comfort or support.
The SleepZone staff is highly trained to help our customers pick a mattress the first time that will help
them get a great night’s sleep.

Q: How do I clean my mattress?

A: Cleaning a mattress is not easy and you should never use caustic cleaning products to try and remove a
stain. The best prevention against stains is to use a mattress protector. The SleepZone carries high grade
mattress pads that are waterproof, dust mite proof, and allergen proof, and will provide you with a clean
    and healthy sleeping environment.

Q: Are mattress warranties important?

A:  Mattress warranties are important, but you should never buy a mattress based on the length of the
warranty. Although warranties typically reflect how well a product is made, this is not necessarily true
with mattresses. Some manufacturers will put longer warranties on their mattresses just to make
customers believe they are better products.

What’s more important is to buy from a reputable dealer that can provide you with proven, name brand
products, and will be there if you do have a warranty issue.

Q: What happens if I have a warranty issue?

A: At The SleepZone, we handle all of the warranty inspections ourselves so you never have to go through
a third party like with most mattress dealers or furniture stores. If you feel you have a warranty issue,
you simply call our store and we will explain the process to see if your mattress is covered. If it is, we
will take care of replacing it

Q: I’ve heard that sleeping on memory foam or latex rubber will make you sweat?

A:  Some brands of memory foam or latex mattresses may cause you to sweat but we have not had that
happen with either the Tempur-Pedic or Englander brand mattresses. The higher quality foam designs
used by these two companies will actually promote air circulation to help you sleep more comfortably.

Q: Do you carry replacement sofa bed mattresses?

A:  We have a sister company, SofaTopia that sells what we feel are absolutely the best replacement sleeper
sofa mattresses on the market.  You can check out the best sleeper sofa mattresses by clicking here.
